Yaşar, who was noticed while trying to escape abroad from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, was caught with the passport she showed to the police officers to go to Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the police officers became suspicious and conducted an investigation, her identity was determined. The former HDP mayor, who was preparing to escape with a passport prepared in the name of her brother Yüksel Yaşar, was identified as Betül Yaşar, who is wanted for alleged membership in the terrorist organization PKK/KCK, after fingerprint examination. The suspect was exposed by the passport she gave to the police while trying to escape abroad. It was observed that the suspect came to the airport wearing a headscarf to avoid recognition and took off her headscarf after the detention process. Yaşar, who was taken into custody, was referred to the courthouse after the procedures.
