Israel mounts airstrikes on Gaza's Jabalia campIsraeli jets pounded the Jabalia refugee camp, causing the mass displacement of Palestinians from the north to the west of Gaza City.

Local sources told Anadolu that more than 100 Israeli airstrikes hit roads and residential areas in the camp and its surroundings.

Intense overnight clashes took place between Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces east of the camp, the sources added.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, said its fighters were engaged in fierce clashes with Israeli forces in the eastern part of the camp.

Gordana Siljanovska Davkova takes office as North Macedonia's 1st female presidentGordana Siljanovska Davkova, the winner of the May 8 presidential election in North Macedonia, officially started her term as the country's first female president.

A special session in the North Macedonian Assembly was held for the oath taking ceremony. It was attended by high-ranking representatives, religious leaders and foreign ambassadors including Turkish Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy.

Siljanovska Davkova pledged to diligently and responsibly fulfill her duties as the president of Macedonia in her speech.

Catalan separatist parties lose majority in regional elections in SpainSeparatist parties in Spain's northeastern Catalonia region lost their majority in elections, with the Socialist Party winning the biggest vote.

"This opens a new era for all Catalan residents — whatever they think, whatever language they speak and wherever they come from," said Socialist candidate and former Spanish Health Minister Salvador Illa in his victory speech.

However, with 42 seats, the Socialist Party still falls significantly short of the 68-seat majority needed to form a government in the regional Parliament.
